The Computer Science department at Georgia State University is looking
for strong PhD candidates to join its exciting Next Generation program
in the Bioinformatics cluster.  The candidate would work under the
supervision of Dr. Murray Patterson, however there will be ample
opportunity to collaborate with other faculty, labs and industry.

The ideal candidate should have some background in:
- data analysis, interpretation and visualization
- mathematical modeling
- C/C++, Python, or other modern programming languages
- some familiarity with the unix/linux environment

Candidates with a BSc. or MSc. in computer science, mathematics or
similar disciplines will be considered.  Knowledge of
biology/bioinformatics is not a must, but is a plus.  Candidates from
biology or chemistry with a strong computational component will also
be considered.

The planned start date is September 2020 (fall semester), or January
2021 (spring semester) at the latest.  Interested applicants should

bioinformatics, graphics and visualization, networks and distributed
